Inspired by old wooden boats, where surfaces were built from narrow planks and shaped by use rather than precision.
Designed and built using reclaimed wood scraps, the table embraces variation, wear, and imperfection.
The slatted top references boat decks, giving new life to leftover material through a functional, grounded form.

Electrical conversion and Gear stick redesign project @mdxpd
For my first project of my final year, we were given the task to choose a car manufactured between the 1930s and 1970s to redesign its gear stick as an electrical conversion. For this I chose the 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300sl Gullwing. I tried to keep a gear stick that wouldn’t pop out too much but blend with what the gear stick for this car is supposed to look like while also taking inspiration by one of the most influential aspects of the cars design, which is the headlights.
Trust the process…
Spent weeks working on this table. The plan was an olive wood slab top with walnut joints, but as the deadline got closer the olive started cracking and snapping apart. With no time left, I swapped in Red Meranti – not my first choice, but the only option on hand. The legs though? Smooth, solid walnut, and honestly my favourite part of the piece.

I’ve really been enjoying using the 3D printer to experiment with prototypes, i’m don’t think i like how the plastic looks when trying to mimic materials for lampshades tho, i’ll have to see if i can find some alternatives.

Modern Arabic style coffee tables.
i’ve been experimenting with mixing some traditional arabic / islamic style pieces with a more modern look. this was my first bit of experimenting, where i 3D printed the original table design in 3 parts and realised that i can organise them in different ways to make 3 different tables.
